Mr Masumi's Thought

Mr Masumi's Thought

«There is something slippery about words, once they're written, their gleam...»

was abruptly interrupted as his feet immersed in the basin's salty water -the warmth eradicating from his toes to his upper legs, reaching just below the pelvic region -

and later while his body adapted to the touch of the masseuse, those vertical feelings, safely distant as ceiling flecks behind mist.

« however sweet, this blindness might kill as gravity »

Her hands gloomed in oil. His body stilled his head under the flat of her hands, became a narrow shadow of him self. There was room for silence, though in between far off noises arrived at him with augmented physical perception.

« parallel water flowing down the walls, slowly filling the landscape »

On the way back home, he sat by the window, engaging in the late afternoon traffic. Buses hurried by, among small cars, dogs and bicycle carts. People cued on sidewalks, waiting upon their turns. His mind felt idle, sweat drops began falling.

« the same about faces, the way we look and bring forth certain lines, measures, relations, ignoring others, inducing deception »

He noticed a young woman and her child had taken the place up his front, the evidence of life making it all so irrelevant – his thoughts against breasts and lips were nothing - a mere record of the journey's log.

Evidence of Water

Evidence of Water

As the stream flows along
that small rivulet
satisfying the dogs
this short sentence pops to my mind:
Evidence of Water -
one of the first words I heard
her say;
evidence of something
beautiful
underneath her soft, unsullied skin
rolling through her tongue
to the world – a gift
of nature
performing its chemistry

Each time, that same conviction
of birds
on their first flight
besides, the awareness of
meaning
I'm sure the meaning was there
cuz that's how words
are given form
but the awareness is an outer
peel, like a defense
an extra concrete layer, made up to
fasten the central structure
preventing it from bouncing
on stormy days.

[ there is no evidence without
awareness
which, in fact, is irrelevant ]

The most crucial thing being
water – not the liquid, but
the idea we make of it - the concept
we are able to speak out
and look at
from a distance.

Barão Reports – The people

Barão Reports – The people

Half of them are foreigners, showing off
a dream, a real white sandy moon
in one hand, a lint disguising golden attributes
in the other

Some are passengers
moving along with time
caressing faces which
makes them believe
they: becoming oranges
can inhale it for a while
and forget their
birth

Then, there are the
Trees.
Which are more than
trees; they are the soul of these
men. They are the roots connecting
generations of cultural identity
maps of human geography.
They flourish and fruit
the words of their language
year after year

As words feeding in my mind
continuously asking to be spoken
or painted
white, watered, written;
I shut them down!
often it’s better to let them rest
between the beat of two thoughts
before

Trees, words, men
all cast together
under the same sun
they are

like earth
waking
to read the wind above
its leaves.

The Strange Thing About Words

The Strange Thing About Words

How often we ignore them
in fact, we
gradually increase our debug level
in order not to get annoyed by the
ignorance, noise
invading our aura of
integrity

She licked her onion soup lips, just before sealing the envelope;
days later I could still smell it
in my finger news

We used to write incognito letters
to each other
just rendering our sexuality
as emotional appetites
in innocuous words

Can you image?
everything was so purely blatant
once I told her I would digress over her neck and shoulders
she sent me a photograph of hers, in her room
in return I sent her a small barrel filled with soft yolked eggs
And you trusted her... your feelings?
It was too late not to. From the moment you stand up inertia is gone and
you can't stop raising the mood
When you're cast in the middle of a full raising moon
you're lost!

Laying in bed, I would wait, anxiously
day after day
for the postman next bell's ring

Alienated from all the rest, I
envisioned only
one unnamed departure
mine, onto an exotic land.

Have you ever seen a bull fight?
Words can be powerful, dangerous as the glaciers path
they can trim your mind, at a distance
pound your core
existence squeezed
bull fixed gory eyes in man's
The moment preceding brutal clash
words like keen horns
inflicting naïve pain
upon disarmed
beliefs

Attachment grows while you're sleeping – no control
(another time) she sent me a sandalwood letter opener
which I mixed with the scent of
dunes and spinifex
devouring all
afterwards.

Some men have baby-dolls!
